Address and accessibility

  • Duivenvoorde Castle is situated on a provincial road, the N447 (Veurseweg), between Voorschoten and Leidschendam in the province of Zuid-Holland, and is easily accessible by car, as well as by public transport.

Go up the drive, and park your car at the designated car park after about 500 meters. From there, it is only a couple of minutes to walk to the castle. If you have walking difficulties, it is permitted to have a car drive up to the castle to drop you off, however, the car should be parked at the car park nonetheless. Parking in front of the castle is not permitted.

Please note! Some (car) navigation systems will tell you to take the Horstlaan, but this is not the correct route to the entrance. The entrance of the park and Duivenvoorde Castle is located on the Veurseweg and can be recognised by the stone entrance gate with an iron fence. This is the only entrance that will lead you to the castle.

The castle has a (free) car park with room for over 100 cars.

    Public transport
Duivenvoorde Castle can be reached with bus lines 45 (Den Haag CS – Leiden CS) and 46 (Den Haag CS – Voorschoten Centrum), serviced by bus company Veolia. The bus stops (Kniplaan, Voorschoten) are located next to the drive of Duivenvoorde Castle.

You can determine the directions to the castle by using the map at the bottom of this page.
